Direct Repairs for Insurance Companies in Kansas City North:
When you get into a motor vehicle accident or
collision, your car insurance takes care of all the repair costs (except
any “betterment” – see below).
It will set you up with B & H Automotive because we are a
“preferred” or “recommended” body shop.
We will ensure that your vehicle is repaired following high
quality standards that are established by your auto insurance company.
This eliminates the hassle for you because you don’t have to get
multiple estimates that have to be submitted and approved by your
vehicle’s insurance company.
If we think there is additional work that needs to be performed on your
car or truck that your insurance company has missed, we will work with
the insurance company to make sure that your vehicle is repaired

Here is a List of Questions that You May Have After Your Accident and
Our Answers:
Where do I get my claim number?
Claim numbers are issued by the insurance company
at the time you report your accident.
Just write the claim number down and bring it in with you.
If you need help in obtaining a claim number, we will be happy to
assist you.
Can I take my vehicle where I want to have it repaired?
Yes. As the owner of the vehicle you have the right to choose where your auto is repaired. We work with all major insurance companies and will take care of all of your mechanical and body repairs.
Do I have to get more than one estimate?
No. There is no law that says you have to get more
than one estimate. If an
insurance company asks you to get more than one, explain to them that
you would prefer to work with B and H Automotive.
If the insurance company needs more than one estimate, they can
have one of their own appraisers take a look at your vehicle.
All this should be done at your convenience.
You should choose the location of the appraisal too.
If the insurance company gives you an estimate, we
will repair your vehicle according to their approved estimate and
contact them directly if any additional items are needed.
If your estimate is higher than my insurance company’s?
Will I have to pay the difference?
At B & H Automotive, we work with all major
insurance companies and will negotiate a fair price to complete the
repairs on your behalf without sacrificing your safety or the quality of
the repairs.
What are “betterment” charges in my estimate?
Parts that wear out and need to be replaced with
time and use (such as batteries, tires and suspension parts) are
commonly subject to “betterment” charges when they are replaced during
the repair process. This
means that your auto insurance company will only pay a portion of these
types of repair costs, and some items they may not pay for at all.
You will know up front if your insurance company will only pay a
portion or none of an item’s repair costs so you can decide if you want
it replaced.
Can I get an estimate if I send you photos of the damage to my vehicle?
In order to give you the most accurate estimate,
we prefer you to bring your vehicle into our body shop.
Do I have to pay a deductible?
Whether or not you are responsible for a
deductible is determined by your insurance policy and who was at fault.
It is best to contact your insurance company or agent to
determine whether or not you’re deductible has been waived or if you are
responsible to pay it. If
you are responsible for a deductible, your payment will be due to us
upon completion of the repairs to your vehicle.
My vehicle is a total loss, should I release it to the insurance company
before we settle on the value?
Yes, it is always better to settle on the value
before releasing it.
